Honeysuckle

(Lonicera japonica)

This extremely fast-growing vine is considered a noxious weed in many states, including Virginia. Imported from the Far East in the 1900s, it was planted as an ornamental, for erosion control, and as a source of food for wildlife. Its rampant growth habit forms dense mats that cut off sunlight for other plants and its weight can break branches or small trees.
