Common Name: False Solomon's Seal

Latin Name: Maianthemum racemosum

Bloom Time: Spring (May)

Location: Nature Trail; multiple sites, primarily near the picnic table

Attracts: Bees, moths (nectar); birds, small mammals (seeds) 

Special Note: “False” in the Common Name is based on the similarity of the leaves of this plant to those of Solomon’s Seal (Polygonatum). However, the flowers of the False Solomon's Seal appear at the end of the stem whereas the flowers of Solomon’s Seal appear along the underside of the stem.
