Common Name: New York Fern

Latin name: Thelypteris noveboracensis

Time of Year: Deciduous; dormant in Winter; emerges in Spring

Location: Nature Trail; multiple places between the Wildflower Garden and First Overlook

Attracts: Provides shelter for small animals (eg.toads) and nesting material for birds.

Special Note: Despite its restrictive Common Name, it is found throughout the Eastern United States.
