Wild Geranium

 

Latin name: Geranium maculatum

 

Bloom Time: Spring (April/May)

Flowers rose-pink 5 petaled.  Leaves toothed, deeply cut into 5 lobes.

 

Location: Wildflower Garden, scattered on side of garden with “Do Not Mow” sign

 

Attracts: Butterflies

 

Special Note: Latin name based on Greek word for crane (geranos); the seedpod resembles a crane’s bill.
