Latin name: Symphyotrichum cordifolium

Bloom Time: Late Summer into Fall (Started blooming the last week in August)

Location: Wildflower Garden; immediately beside the "Do Not Mow” sign

Attracts: Bees, Butterflies; Birds for the seeds

Special Note: Serves as the host plant for the larvae of the Pearl Crescent Butterfly; we have had many Pearl Crescent Butterflies in the Wildflower Garden over the summer.
