Latin name: Vernonia noveboracensis

Location: Wildflower Garden; side opposite from the “Do Not Mow” sign; lower section

Attracts: Bees, Butterflies, Birds (seeds)

Special Note: Despite its restrictive common name, it is commonly found along the Eastern U.S. from S.C to the Northeast.
