Westminster Canterbury Paulsen Clinic
An on-campus clinic is a valuable asset for all Independent Living residents of Westminster Canterbury Lynchburg. The Clinic provides an array of routine medical services every day for Independent Living residents and hosts outside professional health providers who provide weekly scheduled medical, dental, and audiology services.
Andrea Dowdy and Amanda Kawamura oversee the running of the Clinic's daily services for residents. They work with the medical providers to schedule lab work and examination appointments. They do blood pressure checks, administer eye drops, change dressings as needed and run all emergency calls from Independent Living residents. In emergencies, they interface with ambulance services.
The Clinic is located on the first floor of the Riverside Building.

M-W-Th-F: 8:00 AM to 12:00PM & 1:00 to 4:30 PM
Tuesday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 & 1:30 to 4:30 PM

Resident Clinic Nurse
Andrea has been in the medical field for the last 20 years. She started as a CNA straight out of high school, graduated LPN school two years later and has never looked back. She has worked in various practices and disciplines from long term care, infectious disease, to primary care. Prior to coming to Westminster Canterbury in March 2022, Andrea worked at general surgery. She loves to sing, bake, craft and watch her kids play soccer, baseball and football.

Tonya has been in the medical field for the last 20+ years. She has worked in various facilities and roles. She enjoys taking care of people and helping to make a difference in their lives. She always has a smile and welcoming attitude. She is a great asset to WC and she can be found working various departments of healthcare and the clinic.
She is married and has 2 dogs that are life outside of WC. She enjoys cooking, the outdoors and her family time.
