Kay Albee

Kay was born and raised in West Orange, New Jersey. She graduated from Orange Memorial School of Nursing and worked in maternity and psychiatric areas. Her husband, John Hoppell, who worked for the Babcock and Wilcox Co. was sent to Reactor School in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, after which they moved to Lynchburg in 1955. She worked at Virginia Baptist Hospital after her two children were in school. She has five grandchildren living in Conn. and Alabama. Kay has been active in her church, Rivermont Presbyterian since 1956. She enjoys reading, counted cross-stitch, and has worked with Hospice. She and her late husband were married nearly fifty years before he died. Her second marriage was to Bill Albee and he and Kay considered their marriage as a wonderful gift from the Lord. Bill passed away in April of 2014.
