Craig Hove and Joan Brooks
Mr. Hove was born in Buffalo, New York, was raised there and in Toronto, Ontario. He moved to Lynchburg,Virginia thirty years ago. His education in nuclear engineering includes degrees from the University of Toronto, Cal. Tech, M.I.T., and a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. He is a Professional Engineer working at Framatome-ANP, and is not planning retirement at this time.
Mrs. Brooks was born in Lynchburg and raised in Campbell County. She holds B.A. cum laude and M. Ed. degrees from Lynchburg College and a M.A. degree from Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond. Her family includes her son Fred Williams and his wife Patricia and three grandchildren, Sean, Erin, and Connor Williams, who all live in Springfield, Virginia.
Mr. Hove and Mrs. Brooks met at B&W in Lynchburg and were married in April 1981. They are members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. They have two beloved feline “furbabies”— Beau, a blue bicolor Ragdoll, and Rosie, a blue tabby-point Birman. Both Mr. Hove and Mrs. Brooks belong to the Lynchburg Civil War Round Table. Mr. Hove plays violin in the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra and serves as a Board member for the orchestra. He serves also on the Board of Lynchburg Sister City Plus. His other interests include chess and travel. Mrs. Brooks enjoys genealogical and historical research and belongs to several lineage and heritage organizations – Colonial Dames, DAR, D1812, UDC, Lynchburg Historical Foundation and Campbell County Historical Society. She has also published articles in “Lynch’sn Ferry”. Other interests include bridge and bird watching.
