Mrs. Helen Petrill
Mrs. Petrill grew up on a farm in Buckingham County, Virginia. She attended Centre College of Kentucky and graduated in 1949. At McCormick Theological Seminary she met her husband and they were married in 1952. He died shortly thereafter of cardiac complications and she later worked as a church educator in congregations, presbyteries, synod, and General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Petrill retired and moved to Lynchburg ten years ago. She did not remarry and has no children.
Mrs. Petrill is a member of Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church where she is active with the library and the missions committee. She also volunteers one afternnoon a week with Presbyterian Homes and Family Services and is an active member of Churches for Urban Ministry. Mrs. Petrill enjoys reading, stamp collecting, bird watching, and listening to music – especially live organ concerts.
