Martha Conde

Martha was born and raised in Lynchburg. She attended E. C. Glass High School and after graduating she enrolled at St. Mary’s Junior College in Raleigh, North Carolina. She left after one year and returned home to attend Phillips Business College. After completing her training she worked for Appalachian Electric Co. When they reorganized she worked for a local dentist. After two years she joined Lynchburg National Bank, where she worked for 26 years in the several different departments in addition to the Trust Department. 

Martha was first married to Ben Thornhill, III, who is deceased. Later she married William Conde, who is deceased. Martha loves to travel and read. She enjoys playing bridge and working jig-saw puzzles, and walking. She enjoys Garden Club and volunteering at Point of Honor. Martha is a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She has been chair of the Employee Christmas Fund for the past two years.
