Jean Markham 

Both Pat and Jean were raised in Lynchburg and attended E.C. Glass High School. Pat went on to Virginia Tech Mechanical Engineering School. Pat graduated and became an engineer; he also went into the Army where he was an Engineering Captain. After his return from Korea he and Jean started dating. After Pat retired from the Army they moved to Peoria, IL where he worked for Caterpillar Tractor then moved to Roanoke to work for Carter Machinery. They then moved to Springfield, VA where he was a construction engineer before moving to Saudi Arabia to work for ARAMCO and Bechtel. Jean worked for a local telephone company while attending Phillips Business College where she received her certificate. Jean worked for a local bank in Springfield until they moved to Saudi Arabia where she did communications for ARAMCO for 7 years. In the fall of 1992, Pat retired and they moved to Forest, Virginia 

Pat and Jean will have been married for 60 years this December. They have four children and five grandchildren. Pat enjoys reading and Bible study and has enjoyed playing golf.  Jean enjoys playing bridge, golf, Bible study, reading, knitting, cross stitching, and visiting.
