David & Peggy Slack

David was born in Chelyan, West Virginia. After graduating from high school in West Virginia he attended Virginia Tech and graduated in 1971. David also attended Washington County Technical School. He is a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force for four years. David retired as a Reclamation Specialist. 

Peggy, his wife, was born in Glade Spring, Virginia. After graduating high school she attended Radford University, graduating in 1960. She retired working as a teacher. The Slacks have been married for 49 years. Together they have two sons, both reside in Virginia. The Slacks belong to the Presbyterian Church. David enjoys spending his time gardening, woodworking, and walking. He volunteers at the American Chestnut Foundation Research Farms. Peggy enjoyed sewing, cooking, walking, and talking about adult education classes.  Peggy died at WC in 2021.
