Clyde (Chuck)& Hazel Steffen

Chuck was born on a farm near Luxemburg, IA. He graduated from St. Boniface High School. After high school he served in the navy for four years. Next he attended and graduated from the University of Connecticut. He obtained his MSEE from Columbia University while working for Bell Telephone Labs in New Jersey. Then he came to Lynchburg and worked for General Electric until Ericsson purchased the business. Ericsson transferred him and Hazel to Sweden where they lived for a year and a half. They retired back to Lynchburg.

 Hazel was born in Albemarle County and graduated from Fleetwood High School. She worked for Craddock Terry and later went to Consolidated Textile. When General Electric came to Lynchburg she went to work there and worked there until she retired. 

Chuck and Hazel have been married for 32 years and have four children and eight grandchildren.  They enjoy reading, exercising, and volunteering.
