Beth and Stuart Fauber grew up in Lynchburg and first met each other at E.C. Glass High School. They married in 1968 while Stuart was a student at Washington and Lee. After graduation, the young couple moved to Newport, RI where Stuart attended Navy OCS and was commissioned as an Ensign. They moved to Charleston, SC the homeport of USS Richard E. Kraus (DD849) where Stuart served as Navigator and Communications Officer. Stuart served on deployments in the Middle East and Vietnam while Beth kept the home fires burning in Charleston. By that time the couple had two daughters, Julie and Hilleary, and they became the focus of the family.
After three years of active duty in the Navy, the family of four moved back to Lynchburg where Stuart joined First and Merchants Bank, and Beth worked part time in the Lynchburg General Hospital ER and also in a dress shop.
Stuart’s banking job turned into a 33 year career in banking, and he retired as President of SunTrust-Lynchburg in 2008. He then joined the non-profit arena when he was named President of the Greater Lynchburg Community Foundation. He then served in that capacity for eight years and retired in 2015.
After several years of working in a dress shop, Beth decided to open her own business. In 1985 she opened “Voila” in Boonsboro Shopping Center. Beth attributes much of the success of Voila to her dedicated staff of seven part time employees. The store was known for great service and “Fine Ladies Fashions”.

Julie works for the City of Chesapeake as a Mental Health Counselor. Hilleary lives in Aurora, Colorado with her husband, Scott, and their 3 children, Ella, Josh, and Olivia. Scott is an Architect working on the Denver Airport, and Hilleary is an interior Designer working for a fitness gym company called VASA.
As a long-time banker, Stuart has been involved in many community activities over the years. He served as Lynchburg College Board Chair, Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg Board Chair, and Lynchburg Regional Chamber of Commerce Board Chair. He retired as a Navy Captain with 33 years of service in 2000.
