Ruth Bradway

Ruth Bradway and her late husband, Ken, were both lifelong New Jersey residents. Married in 1950, they raised six sons, including twins, in Quinton, New Jersey, while Ken was working for DuPont and Ruth was a telephone operator, then drove a school bus, and later worked for a butcher shop. Now the six Bradway brothers live in six different states: Nevada, Indiana, Maine, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Virginia. Each son has two children, and Ruth has sixteen “and counting” great-grandchildren. Her niece, Janita, lives in Baltimore and helped her get ready to move to Lynchburg. Her youngest son, Dan, lives in Forest, Virginia, and is the Manager at Boonsboro Country Club.

For sixty years Ruth was a member of Quinton Baptist Church, where she was a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels. She and a church friend started a quilting group, and Ruth still makes quilts. She also enjoys needlepoint, crocheting, knitting, crafts, and painting. Among her favorite games are Bingo (as a caller as well as a player) and Wii Bowling (she would like to play in a league). She would enjoy meeting fellow residents who play, or would like to learn to play, RummyKub (something like Rummy, but with tiles instead of cards).
