Paul & Barbara Sherburne

Paul Sherburne grew up in a small farming community in Northeast Iowa; Barbara, in the southern city of Jackson, MS.  Happily, their paths crossed in Lynchburg in 1990 and they were married in July 1991.  

Paul attended Iowa State University, graduating in 1966 with a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering and later with an MS degree in 1970 from the University of Akron.  Paul joined Babcock & Wilcox in 1970 and was soon transferred to the commercial nuclear division of B&W in Lynchburg, VA.  Paul retired from AREVA (now Framatome) in 2010 as a Technical Consultant in Plant Chemistry and Corrosion Engineering.  Barbara attended Mississippi State University and was involved with Mother’s Morning Out and teaching preschool children at Peakland Methodist.  She has also worked at several dental offices in Lynchburg.

Paul is a member of the Lynchburg Road Runners and both Barbara and Paul have been active in St. Barnabas and Grace Memorial Episcopal Churches.  Barbara is a former member of the Lynchburg Junior League, is active in DAR and enjoys bridge and hand-and-foot card games.  Both Barbara and Paul enjoy mystery novels, travel whenever possible and are ardent fans of Andre Rieu’s Johann Strauss Orchestra.  Paul also enjoys hiking and playing golf.  Paul and Barbara have 5 children, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren and are looking forward to being residents of WC.
