Joe & Paula Wyatt

Joe and Paula were both born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia.  They met while attending E.C. Glass High School and graduated together in 1969.  Joe went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from V.M.I.  During that time Paula worked as a graphic artist for General Electric.  They were married in 1973.  Joe went to work for Babcock and Wilcox that same year and has worked in  the nuclear power services field for more than 50 years.  After marriage, Paula became a housewife, doing free-lance graphic arts for Ellis and Associates.  Joe and Paula have a single son, J., born in 1976 and two granddaughters, Paxton and Bowers.

Joe earned his Master of Science Degree in computer science from U.V.A. in 1980.  He completed Army Command and General Staff College in 1987. He retired from the Army as a major after 21 years. Paula and J., the artists of the family, explored and produced art in multiple mediums, including pen and ink, oils, acrylics, wood sculpture, porcelain and stoneware. Currently, Paula is working with paper to make greeting cards for family and friends. 

Joe and Paula are third generation legacy residents of Westminster Canterbury, with Joe’s grandmother, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins in residence during the years between 1983 and 2016.  Paula’s mother and aunt were also residents during this time frame.
