Fred Gallagher

Fred was delivered into this world by his uncle Dr. Marvin Rock in Bristol, TN on 5 August 1940. He was raised in Bristol, VA and entered VPI (VA TECH) as a cadet in 1958.

While attending Virginia High School he met and fell in love with the love of his life Doris Amelia Baker. They were married in 1964 and that union produced four wonderful children, Matthew Kirk Gallagher, Rodney Baker Gallagher, Karen Amelia Gallagher and Tate Leo Gallagher. His beloved daughter Karen passed away on June 13, 2022 and his beloved wife of 60 wonderful years, Doris, passed away on January 3, 2024.

Fred was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps, served as Regional Sales Manager for Kewaunee Scientific Equipment Corporation in the northeastern United States and eastern Canada before retiring after 22 years as Vice President and 1/2 owner of Gallagher-Stone, Inc. 

He is currently an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and is now residing among many friends and is blessed to be a resident of Westminster-Canterbury, Lynchburg, VA.
