Greg and Darlene both grew up in the Lynchburg area - Darlene in Amherst County and Greg in Lynchburg.  Darlene graduated from Amherst County High School and Central Virginia Community College.  She worked at GE, for Dr. Robert Miles and First Colony Life lnsurance Company.   While at First Colony, she worked in Customer Service, Product Development, Marketing and left her job as Assistant Vice President, Annuity Department, in 1997 to help Greg at his restaurant, The Crown Sterling.  Greg graduated from E. C. Glass High School and served time in the Virginia National Guard.  Greg's careers included being a loan officer/branch manager at Central Fidelity Bank; selling real estate; owning/managing Knight Gallery; building/involved in Bull's Restaurant from 1989-2008; and 30 years as the owner of The Crown Sterling restaurant. They sold the Crown Sterling in 2006 and have enjoyed being out of the workforce since then. They both like to travel, especially to beach areas - like North Myrtle Beach, SC and Marco Island, FL - as well as reading and dining out.  Darlene also enjoys Crossword/ Sudoku puzzles and her houseplants - particularly African Violets. They both enjoy walking and being outdoors and, after more than five years on the Wait List for a cottage, are looking forward to their move to WC.
