Nancy Beasley

Nancy was born in Richland Center, a small town in Wisconsin.  She attended Warburg College in Waverly, IA, for two years and graduated from University of Wisconsin in 1956.  She then worked in Hospital Recreation for the American Red Cross in Germany, where she met and married her late husband Linton, who was stationed there in the Army. 

Nancy and Lin were married for 66 years and had six children: Alison (William Marshall), Lynchburg; Brett (deceased); Heather (Bruce Royer), Lynchburg; Holly (Hershel Hale), Powhatan; Dirk (Caroline deceased), Lynchburg; and Darren (Jennifer) of Morgantown, WV. They moved many times in the military, living in many states, as well as the Philippines and Germany.

Watching her 11 grandchildren grow up and spending time with them has been one of her greatest joys: Corey (Richmond); Mallory (Lynchburg); Cynthia (Columbia, SC); Alexandra (Fort Myers, FL); Gordy (Richmond); Keller (Greenville, SC); Kenton (Charlottesville); Austin (Lynchburg) and Isabella, Samantha, and Stella living in Morgantown, WV.

She has enjoyed volunteering in the community and the church.  Exercise has always been an important part of her life, including her time as an aerobics instructor and tennis player.  She and her family are great “dog people”. Her dog Lucy is the best dog she has ever had and a great companion.
