Any W-C resident or staff member can submit a news iterm or story to be used in one of the spots on the website's home page. Though we distinguish between "news" and "features," any activity, upcoming event or program, or interesting happening someone would like to promote is eligible. With our current homepage layout, we only have four spots at the top of the page that are suitable for timely news items, such as upcoming presentations, activities, or events. The two "Feature" spots are intended more for timeless items for which we also have up to ten photos to use in the accompanying photo carousel. These features can be longer because we continue them on the Features Blog page.
If you do have something for us to use in any of these spots on the homepage, you should write up your narrative and use our submission form to submit it to us. We ask that text for "news" items be limited to around 60-75 words and include one photo. Longer "Feature" items can be up to around 200 words and should include several photos (up to 10). You can copy your text from whatever app you have used to write it (Word, Pages, etc.) and then paste it into the form.
